3 Ways to Get the Most Out of Your Drawers

Spray paint has come a long way from back in the days when it was just for juvenile delinquents to ruin fences and warehouse walls.  Many paints now contain metallic color finishes, bright neon colors, and even protective coatings.  Use your drawers as decorative accents or add some functionality to your drawer box inserts.

Metallic paint can match your counters and make drawers stand out, not blend in!

FUN WITH COLOR    Spray paint the inside of your drawers to give a little extra personality to your room.  Paint your drawers metallic bronze to match the flecks in your marble kitchen counter top.  Use black paint to match the mirror frame in your bathroom.  Bob Ross would be proud.

TOUGH DRAWERS    Like I said, many spray paints have protective coatings so they can add protection and extra functions to your drawers.  Painting could add a layer to resist scratching from your kitchen utensils, or use a spray paint with waterproofing to store garden tools in a backyard workbench.

OUTSIDE THE (DRAWER) BOX   Here's a tip for the teacher or perfectionist in your life: use chalkboard paint so crafting supplies or garage tools can be labeled right on the drawer surface.  This way they can easily see if something is missing or just not in the right spot.  Getting the missing tools back from your neighbor...you're on your own.

One last tip- some spray paints might require a primer layer before applying the color- however a lot of the newer spray paints come as primer-and-color-in-one.  Easy, right?  So that's it- go nuts and add some fun stuff with to your drawers.
